Joshua Lickliter was born and raised in London, Ohio, where he still proudly resides. Growing up in a single-parent home, he embraced the values of hard work, perseverance, and self-reliance early in life. A lifelong student of history and politics, Josh found inspiration in the America First movement, sparked when Donald Trump descended the golden escalator in 2015. Shortly before the 2016 election, he received his first MAGA hat—a symbol of his commitment to conservative values and Republican principles.
In 2020, Josh took his activism to the next level. After attending a Trump rally watch party, he volunteered with the Ohio Republican Party and quickly became a key player in the ground game, serving as a turf coordinator intern during the general election. Since then, he has knocked on over 10,000 doors and volunteered for numerous campaigns across Ohio.
From October 2023 to March 2024, Josh successfully managed the Republican primary campaign of now-County Commissioner Brendan Shea, unseating an incumbent and demonstrating his strength in strategic leadership. Building on that momentum, he founded Excel Political Strategies in October 2024, offering campaign consulting and grassroots mobilization services across Ohio and beyond, designed with small-district races in full focus.
Josh further cemented his role in the movement by launching The Conservative Crusader podcast in 2020, featuring guests including Senator Bernie Moreno, members of Congress, and key figures in the Trump 47 movement. Though currently on pause, the podcast built his profile as a rising voice in conservatism.
Josh is also a former chair of the Ohio Teenage Republicans and continues to mentor young conservatives, helping shape the next generation of Republican leadership.
